It has been 18 years in the making. And now the final phase of the Emerald Parkway in the Dublin, Ohio project is complete. The final phase allows traffic to go from Riverside drive to Sawmill Rd. In the past you would have to take 161 or cut through some of the smaller streets to get there. Now this means that you can get from Sawmill Rd all the way to Tuttle Crossing without changing roads! How cool is that?
The final extension is 5.6 miles long and opens up 115 acres of land for development, which most of it faces 270 (great exposure for lots of businesses!). This project cost $62 million. Now that’s a lot of money!
Today, Dublin is going to get a little greener. The Party on the Parkway, planned from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public to celebrate. They will have green search lights will illuminate the stretch of roadway from 5 to 8 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. And the opening ceremony begins at 5:45 p.m. There will be live music, entertainment, street performers and free food. There is also on-street parking. But be sure to wear a heavy coat and umbrella, it’s supposed to be cold and rainy.
